ATK Movies review

When people stop flocking to multiplexes to catch the latest CGI-engorged, vacuous, over-budgeted blockbuster, you can be sure that XXX theaters are in even worse financial straits. I can’t recall the last time I saw an exclusively heterosexual adult cinema in operation and that’s a damn shame. Part of our erotic history has been torn from beneath our feet. Where will Paul Reubens get arrested now, Whole Foods? Thankfully, the Internet has more than capably picked up where the demise of cinemas left off, with thousands upon thousands of adult movie websites filling all corners of cyberspace and offering you, the discerning and horny home viewer, ample opportunity to ‘shed a tear’ over a fuck flick or two. One such website comes to you from the highly competent smut peddlers of ATK, the aptly titled ATK Movies. Promising exclusive hardcore and softcore pay-per-view movies showcasing the best and brightest models performing such lewd and delightful acts as “dancing”, “dual penetration”, “foot fetish”, “blowjob”, and “spanking” (so says the Movie Type list). Let’s head inside, grab some hypothetical popcorn, take a seat, and roll the first reel.

Pros:
- ATK Movies sources its videos from other ATK sites (Petites, Exotics, Galleria et al) and as such doesn’t offer anything truly exclusive, only exclusive to this company. The good thing about that is that you can save money by electing to purchase movies you want here instead of signing up to a monthly membership at only one of the other sites.

- Both the depicted sex and the models featured on ATK Movies cover quite a wide range of styles, from hirsute pseudo-doms to clean-shaven teen princesses masturbating, being interviewed, sucking cock, eating pussy, and getting brutally slammed by some lucky stud. There are also quite a few reasonably well-known pornstars thrown into the mix – Nicole Ray, Riley Mason, and Evie Delatosso were three pleasant surprises – in addition to the mostly amateur performers.

- ATK’s servers seem to handle large files and multiple downloads very well, with speeds of 300kbps being about average. During this review process, there were no dropouts or heavily tapered drops in speed.

Cons:
- ATK Movies offers a pay-per-view service with most scenes costing around two or three Crowns, though some can reach eight to ten. With an approximate exchange rate of $1 USD to every Crown, you can quickly run out of your pre-purchased amount and be sucked into shelling out for more. Price seems dictated by the length and nature of each scene, with 15-minute-plus hardcore scenes costing much more than model interviews or stripping scenes.

- Video quality is disappointingly feeble for a dedicated movie site. The most recently added scenes only reach resolutions of 720x480 and a 2400bps bitrate, while older content is even less impressive, often maxing out around 480x320 / 375bps and looking just plain terrible. This is especially disappointing due to some of ATK’s other sites new High Definition videos.

- Searching the archives isn’t impossible, just nowhere near as straightforward as it needs to be. With dozens of selectable criteria available, it’d be fantastic to be able to choose more than one option to tailor your search. If you’re after a hirsute girl taking a load on her face, you’ll have more trouble than you might think finding it.

- Although comments can be made on videos that you’ve purchased, few users have managed to post anything more worthwhile than “wooow! This girl is so hot!” and “This is my comment”.

Conclusion:
Although it’s free to sign up for an ATK Movies membership, you won’t find any incredible bargains here. With each scene running between three and thirty minutes and costing between $2 and $12 (or Crowns) each, you can easily find yourself with nothing left in your Crown bank and a handful of scenes that didn’t satisfy your pornographic cravings. The model roster is impressive and boasts not only some smoking hot amateurs, but well-known professionals as well (Gianna Michaels, Shay Laren, Afrodite et al). The biggest problem with having such great and varied models is that they are, on the whole, woefully presented in videos that fail to consistently reach any kind of pleasing standard. You’re given no quality information before you pay for a scene, not even before you download it, leaving you frustrated and disheartened by the lackluster results you’re left with. Other ATK websites are now offering full High Definition videos so why not their flagship movie site? ATK as a whole, and especially ATK Movies, shows a lot of promise, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
