Hentai, a much varied and hugely popular form of animated adult entertainment born out of Japan's ever-curious sexual psyche, is the focus of HD Hentai Tube, a site that purports to hold more than 1,000 streaming and downloadable pornographic cartoons. With familiar terms like Anal, Lesbian, Bondage, and Big Tits touted on the tour pages, it might seem like this is a style of porn, and indeed a website, that won't really challenge any viewers to step outside their general viewing habits. Then there are the alien words: yaoi, yuri, ecchi, and futanari; words that could make even the most seasoned porn viewer a little uncomfortable. (I'll explain these terms shortly, don't worry.) Being of an illustrated, animated nature, hentai can range from the realistic (two girls fingering each other in a Sento bathhouse) to the outright ludicrous (the always popular tentacle rape sub-genre) and covers so much fantastic sexual ground it seems basically limitless. HD Hentai Tube, which offers you a month of access to its archive for $29.95, seems to bring a fairly hefty amount of cartoon smut to the table, but can it actually deliver something all the other lackluster hentai sites cannot?

Pros:
HD Hentai Tube might not be dealing in exclusive content, but, hey, at least there's a lot of it. More than 1,100 individual videos are currently held here. They are sorted into basic categories, too with Big Tits holding the most scenes, more than Group, Bondage, Straight, Anal, Lesbian, and Futanari, the latter of which holds just 36 scenes. Yaori (male affection), Futanari (androgyny and hermaphroditism), Ecchi (eroticism), and Yuri (lesbian) varieties are all here, too.

At the outset, HD Hentai Tube declared itself a streaming video site and I'm pleased to report that the streams load fairly quickly and play without any hassles or hiccups. Unlike many "tube" sites, HD Hentai Tube also offers downloads in Flash format at a 640x480 pixel resolution.

Somewhat surprisingly, there are many videos not this site that have been dubbed or subtitled in English. This clearly will help you understand what the hell is going on and, with evil doctors tying up nymphs, teachers enticing a student to really earn her passing grade, sexy alien chicks fucking gangs of human men, monster sex, tentacle fucking, and a heap of other fantastical smut, these translations are essential.

With membership usually running you $29.95 per month, or a one-day trial offered at $1, HD Hentai Tube is either dirt cheap or pretty damn expensive. Thanks to Mr. Pink's bargain-hunting skills, however, you can now get inside at the discounted monthly rate of $19.95, letting you enjoy full access and saving you a ten bucks in the process.

Cons:
Unfortunately, most of the videos hosted by HD Hentai Tube are of rather poor quality. Peaking at 640x480 pixels, these Flash format videos are anything but High Definition. Does that make the webmeisters outright liars? Well, let's just say the tour pages, previews, and the very name of the site are all extremely misleading.

As is usually the case with Japanese porn both animated and otherwise, censoring is present here in the form of small pixilated clouds that cover what would otherwise be visible penetration or direct contact between the genitals of one character and the genitals or mouth of another. I'm an adult! Show me the goods!

While the handful of tagged keywords are somewhat helpful, there simply aren't enough of them to sufficiently assist your browsing of HD Hentai's archive. Even the genre names touted on the tour pages are absent from the keyword tag list, leaving those in search of ecchi, yaori, or funatari up a virtual shit creek.

Although some scenes are dubbed and others subtitled in English, most of HD Hentai Tube's nonexclusive collection is in Japanese without any subtitling. If you're the kind of guy who actually cares what the people shown in your porn are saying and doing, how they're feeling and what they're thinking, you'll no doubt be a bit miffed by this.

For the life of me, I couldn't find a single date attached to any HD Hentai Tube videos. Leaving the update schedule (if there is one) completely unknown, this lack of upload information also prevents you from knowing whether the site is still active and whether it'll be growing to a larger size in the future.

Conclusion:
Sorry, HD Hentai Tube, but you're just not cutting the sashimi… if you know what I mean. Folks, here is a site that proudly declares itself a host of High Definition content, yet doesn't actually host a single HD video. Updates may or may not still be arriving, the lack of dates giving nothing away. The 1,100 scenes currently online are either in Japanese with English subtitles (good), dubbed in English (acceptable), or in Japanese without any subtitling whatsoever (suckville) and there's no indication what will be the case until you actually press play and turn your aural attention to your chosen scene. Video quality is pretty weak, hitting just 640x480 pixels in Flash (FLV) format. There's a strong variety here, but you'll have to basically just wander around the site, guided by precious few navigation tools, and gradually find the type of hentai you seek. There's not really much else to be said of HD Hentai Tube, I'm afraid. This will only be of interest to the most ravenous devourers of Japanese animated porn, here unfortunately censored, and of zero interest or value to anyone else.
