Parody Pass review

Batman, Star Trek, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sex & The City, and even Seinfeld have been parodied in pornographic form, as has virtually any pop-culture entity worth a damn. Over at Parody Pass you’ll find an exclusive collection of parody titles from New Sensations, titles like The Flintstones: A XXX Parody, The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody, Tru: A XXX Parody (of True Blood) and The Golden Girls: A XXX MILF Parody. (Yeah, all the titles are that obvious.) Pros:
Parody Pass stars some great pornstars, both male and female, who manage to work some humor into the otherwise fuck-heavy proceedings. Like her or loathe her, even alt.porn quasi-icon Kimberly Kane does a wonderful job as Maude in The Big Lebowski, as does Bobbi Starr as Velma in Scooby-Doo and James Deen steals most of his scenes as J.D. in the Scrubs parody.

Videos look great in the provided streaming Flash format, reaching a resolution of 1024x576 in Flash/FLV format. Those of you with iPads can enjoy a video formatted specifically for use on said device, too. Photo content isn’t disregarded either; at a 1024x683 pixel resolution, plenty of detail is provided, as are zip downloads.

High production values - Big Lebowski and That 70's Show look especially strong - with great cinematography highlighting the impressive costumes and makeup, keeps all actors in relatively close visual relation to their Hollywood counterparts and makes each movie look and feel like a load of fun.

Although Parody Pass only hosts 21 parody titles, each one runs well over an hour, often close to two, and features a number of different sex scenes. As a bonus for all members, 20 non-exclusive non-parody titles are also on hand.

Cons:
Parody movies are not split into scenes, forcing you to randomly click through the timeline to find the scene you actually want to watch. Yes, they’re great fun to sit through in their entirety, but when your dick’s in your hand, you want the good shit and you want it right now, don’t ya?

There are some tell tale signs that show Parody Pass to be something of a rush job. The archive is quite small, especially when all scenes in a title are kept together as one, updates are sporadic, and there are multiple instances of blank areas on pages that should hold more information and imagery.

None of the video content shown here at Parody Pass is downloadable. Streams are provided in two formats, yes, but neither one can be downloaded. The official word on this streaming-only policy? “You may purchase the DVDs if you would like to have a copy for your own.”

Priced just under $30, Parody Pass is a little rich for a site with such a relatively small collection of movies. If Parody Pass can keep pumping out these highly produced films and start adding them on a bi-weekly basis, then $30 does seem reasonable.

Conclusion:
There’s no questioning that parodies are porn’s big money-maker right now, so it’s logical that New Sensations would jump on the bandwagon. Well, I suppose that’s a tad harsh; New Sensations did, after all, get on board the parody gravy train relatively early on, but it’s easy to get confused with so many of the damn things floating around the ‘net. New Sensations and its roster of thoroughly thrilling pornstars have produced some stellar movies here. Production value is of a very high quality and most titles play just as well as sex comedies as they do as hardcore fuck flicks. Unfortunately none of the videos are segmented into scenes, nor are they downloadable, forcing you to watch the entire thing from beginning to end (or to blindly skip through the timeline) from your browser window. Add to that the relatively small collection of content and the reliance upon the non-parody bonus DVDs and you’ve got a site that hasn’t yet reached its full potential, which, at this point, right in the thick of the parody porn revival, seem enormous.
