Overview:
Ten is a mark of excellence. To receive those two digits as your score for anything – math homework, the parallel bars – denotes immediate success. The number ten is perfectly suited to bestowing upon a competitor a sense of perfection and incredible achievement. Just take the two digits themselves: 1 = “You’re number one, dude!” and 0 = “Oh, yeah, that’s right, dawg!” Nobody thinks of the ten’s zero as a zero, but as the letter “o”, making the number ten that much more orgasmic than anything below it, zero included. We here at Mr. Pink’s tend to be pretty tough on the websites we review. I mean, what’s the point in reading a porn review site if they throw high scores at every site with nice tits? You want quality? That means criticism! As such, it’s extremely rare that a site we review will nab that beautiful double-digit perfect score in any of the review departments, let alone all of them. As far as tour page promises go, 5000+ scenes, 1800+ stars, 12 websites, and daily updates are fairly unexceptional. Though the content quantity seems pretty damn high, 12 websites does not make an enormo-network. Thankfully, the Flash video previews show enough hardcore fucking that my mind (and presumably yours) won’t linger on any implied mediocrity. After keeping my peepers set to “peel” while the videos played, I spied the following: Asian chicks, ass slapping, cock gagging, facial cumshots, Gianna Michaels’ bouncing breasts, Tyla Wynn getting assfucked, Julia Ann and a bunch of other MILFs smoking big black cocks, and a gaggle of other currently nameless whores going buck wild on phalluses both real and artificial. Fuck the tour page! Let’s take this mother out to-nite!

Ten’s main page ain’t no great shakes; at least, not at first. Although there are plenty of image previews and links to the newest clips, there are also plenty of ad banners and distracting, flashy graphics that serve little to no purpose. All new content is dated, which makes it easy to see that members will find something fresh on the site four times a day - sweet! New stuff is shown as clips even though they’re pulled from DVDs – the DVDs are split up and uploaded over a few days. 

You can search by star, sexual act, physical attribute, video title, sex toy, clothing, setting and studio from the Search tab in the main menu. All of these are somewhat hidden under the “advanced search” tab, but the categories that initially pop up are also quite good, consisting of the most popular search types – Asian, squirting, doggy style, monster cock, big tits et al. The results given by the search function are first-rate, all nailing your criteria. The only things missing are the ability to select multiple criteria from different categories – Brooke Banner taking it in the ass on a boat, for example – and a pictorial model index. The only way to find your favorite performer is to check out the text listing of everyone, male and female, who currently has scenes online. This presumes you already know who you’re looking for, but it’s sometimes nice to simply check out the chicks and see who’s going to do it for you right now.

Once you find a scene that tickles your boner bone, you’ll discover the site’s various viewing options on that scene’s page. The performers’ names are listed, as is the runtime, a rating (out of 5 stars), user comments, a synopsis of the action, and the title of the DVD it was torn from. Videos can be streamed or downloaded, the latter only in WMV and the former in WMV and occasionally RealVideo. (Yeah, I thought RealVideo was obsolete, too.) Each viewing option has at least two, usually three, quality choices – including 220, 500, 1000 and 1500 kbps. Selecting a download option doesn’t immediately start the file transfer. Instead, members are subjected to some bullshit legal advice insisting that they download a text file containing all that “2257 Compliance” mish-mash. After you download that file (or click ‘cancel’, which also works) you’re given a new link that actually leads to something worthwhile. Why they couldn’t just cut out the middleman, I don’t know. Ten used to have DRM restrictions in place for every downloadable file but they’ve seen the light and discarded DRM altogether. This is great news and makes the site infinitely more worthy of your money than it used to be.

The 1500KB WMVs look pretty good with their 640x480 resolution but are not, by any means, state of the art. Many competing video sites not only have much higher resolutions and bitrates but also provide a larger variety of formats and download options. Occasionally Ten will offer only 220 and 500KB videos, which is pretty disappointing. Fortunately Ten’s wide variety of hardcore helps make up for it’s (at times) less than stellar video quality. Everything you can imagine is featured in at least a couple of scenes. Monster cock sucking, titty fucking, squirting, facials, orgies, double penetrations…it’s all here. Hell, I even saw a woman with an eye patch getting face-fucked. Not only is there a large assortment of content, but there’s also quite an impressive selection of talent. Most big name pornstars, male and female, are present and accounted for, from Eva Angelina, Nina Hartley and Chasey Lain to Peter North, Shane Diesel and Ron Jeremy. No matter who takes your fancy, you’ll definitely enjoy the work of these highly skilled bros and babes.

The Extras page contains bonus videos that are iPod compatible and made specifically for members who want to take some porn with them wherever they go. One of the great things about the site is that non-members can browse and search just like paying customers - that’s a great way to sample the site without paying a nickel. But enough talk - let’s get this review finished, your mind made up, and some cum-rags soggy!

- You can check out what’s on offer without ever signing up. Membership is only needed to stream or download the videos.

Cons:
- The content is non-exclusive.

- Only one screencap is shown for each scene, which makes it a little difficult to determine whether or not the action contained within will satisfy your cravings.

- Video quality definitely needs to be improved, with higher resolutions, bitrates, and more format options.

- Search options can’t be combined and there’s no real model index.

Conclusion:
Ten doesn’t exactly thrill me beyond belief, but it does provide a pretty good service for its membership fee. If you’re not a stickler for High Definition videos or exclusive content, then Ten has something to offer you. Unfortunately, there are over a dozen other DVD download sites out there that provide a much better service than Ten. Hopefully the webmasters can, in the near future, implement a quality upgrade and a slight redesign of the site – that’d make Ten a surefire hit with every hardcore video fan with a keyboard and a bottle of moisturizer.
