Overview:
Isn't it weird how almost every single sexual taboo from yesteryear now seems like standard practice on the Internet? As a confessed pornoholic, there's really only one taboo that I still consider, well, taboo. I'm talking about fucking transsexuals. You see, as taboos break down there's always one place they can be found: in the movies. Perhaps my cinematic experiences aren't as way out as some people's, but I still haven't seen a mainstream comedy that discussed transsexuals in anything but a passing fashion.  Sure, Transamerica dealt with a transsexual protagonist, but that was only seen in a modest amount of theaters and was definitely an adult drama, not something you'd find mentioned in infinite numbers of MySpace blog posts.

Tranny Surprise is one of a handful of hardcore sites that feature transsexuals as the main means of arousal and entertainment. Having existed mostly in the gay porn arena until fairly recently, tranny porn is now often featured on straight porn networks; Tranny Surprise is the perfect example, making its home on the Reality Kings network, which is a highly regarded and extremely popular destination for horny guys in need of some beat-off material. I wonder what their reactions to the trannys are?

The tour page of Tranny Surprise looks great but makes almost no direct claims as to the quantity or quality of the content. Once inside the members' area, however, your fears (if you had any) will most likely abate once you see how extensive the archives are. Never mind the fact that your membership also grants you access to 18 other websites, including such well-known names as 8th Street Latinas, Cum Fiesta, Mike's Apartment, Big Naturals, and the legendary MILF Hunter. Full access to the entire network? That's enough porn to keep anyone hard and happy for a long, long time. Tranny Surprise, though, isn't to be sneezed at. The design of the site might not be great, in fact, it's downright bland, but, just judging from what's shown on the first page of the members' area, this is a site that looks like it will excel in the area that matters most: content.

The most recent updates are shown on Tranny Surprise's main members' page, each giving users a small thumbnail image, upload date, title, model's name, and brief summary of the action to check out before they decide what's going to make them whip it out (if it isn't out already). Navigation isn't exactly a "feature" of this site; in fact I'd go so far as to say there's almost no navigation system online at all. There's a menu at the top of the page but that really just links you to the other sites on the network. I suppose the Updates link is useful, but it also functions the same as the View All link located at the end of this main page update list. Once you click that link, there ain't no going back.

On each of the following seven pages, you'll find about 50 updates, each showing a pic, description of the scene, and other info. Below that assortment of text and graphics are three links, each one taking you to a content page, whether it features Pictures, Screencaps, or Movies. The photo galleries, like the rest of the site, aren't elaborately designed. A Tranny Surprise banner, the T-girl's name, and the update name are the only things between your browser's address bar and the thumbnails. Clicking on a thumb will open the corresponding, enlarged photo in your current browser window. Resolutions now hit 600x900 pixels, although they used to be a little lower. Galleries are always spread over a couple of pages, so if you can't be bothered clicking through them to find the best pics, you can always download a zip archive of the entire set; the link sits beneath the thumbnails. The screencap galleries are setup in exactly the same way, right down to the page layouts and the zip archive. The only differences are in resolution, caps only hit 720x480 in quality. Photos are always, without a doubt, the preferred choice of still image when browsing a porn site and with good reason. Screencaps are usually quite superfluous as they perfectly reflect the action of the video. Image definition suffers from video aliasing and occasionally some lens distortion that you just don't get with photographic cameras (unless Man Ray is snapping the shots). While the photos aren't astoundingly good, lighting is pretty bland, and the locations are dull, they're certainly the better still image option here.

The Tranny Surprise videos, on the other hand, are pretty damn enjoyable, showing some pretty sexy shemales fucked every which way but tenderly. The sex is pretty heavy and hardcore - at least, it is most of the time, and the trannies definitely seem to be enjoying themselves a lot. They give blowjobs, handjobs, footjobs, and take it where the sun don't shine. Great news for tranny fans, that's for sure. In regards to the video quality, Tranny Surprise doesn't really offer anything outstanding, but they don't disappoint too much, either. You can watch streaming videos - either in three long chapters or any number of one minute ones, and download the same partial short clips or full-length scenes, all in WMV format at resolutions of 640x480 and 720x480 (depending on the scene). Sure, the resolutions aren't pushing High Def boundaries or anything, but they'll certainly do for this site.

Don't forget that, as a member, you also get access to the rest of the Reality Kings network, all for $17.95. There's a 2-day trial membership available for $1 but it won't get you full access. Still, it might be worth a shot if you're considering joining. You know what else would be a good idea to do before throwing down your hard earned cash? Reading the rest of the review, of course!

Pros:
- Try as I might, I wasn't able to find any models that were featured in more than one scene. How's that for great variety?

- The photos and videos both show some great close-up shots of the, uh, "special" areas. They even feature a number of double cumshot scenes.

- $17.95 is a steal when you factor in the great Reality Kings network that you also get access to.

- Tranny Surprise updates every Wednesday. Other sites on the network also update weekly so you'll always have something to check out.

Cons:
- If you're strictly into tranny porn then you'll find the rest of the Reality Kings network to be a real snoozefest.

- Older scenes don't come with any full-length videos at all.

- The scenes get rather repetitive as you watch more of them. They all seem to be shot in the same dull location, with no attention given to enhancing the production value.

- There is a 1GB per day download limit.

Conclusion:
I must admit, I wasn't expecting much from Tranny Surprise, even though it comes from a reputable network like Reality Kings. While the scenes certainly don't wow you with their production value, most of the content here is pretty damn enjoyable. You get some really sexy trannies, getting fucked in a variety of ways, and it's all photographed and videoed for your enjoyment. As long as you're not expecting the most high-tech resolutions and formats, I doubt you'll be disappointed by Tranny Surprise.
