Overview:
They live next door; they're buddies; they love to hang out, party and give each other blowjobs. Wait? what? Oh, they're got that kind of special relationship. The site's slogan spells it all out as plainly as can be: "The guy next door. With the guy next door. ALL-MALE ACTION." From the get-go, the site is very nicely designed, with a grey metallic sheen that gives it not only an air of professionalism but one of strength, too. Once you've logged yourself in and landed on the main members' page, you'll see that the look of the tour has been carried through to the rest of the site. The front page features a list of the nine most recent updates, with the newest one featuring a very informative and exciting display that includes not only a synopsis of the scene and the usual photo and video details, but also a flash video trailer (easily the best way to preview a scene). There's also a menu bar at the top of the page that links you to the photo and video indexes, as well as the bonus section, store, "about us" page, and links.

The movies section is laid out in a similar fashion to the updates display we just looked at, except this time each one includes nine great preview images in addition to the trailer video. There's so much preview content in these listings, you're in danger of being a bit disappointed when you actually watch the scene; not because it's not enjoyable, but because you might've seen enough of it already. Of course, there's nothing better than watching some smoking hot porn in full, is there? Once you've selected a scene and given the "watch video" link a click, you'll find yourself at a page that offers a few viewing options for that particular scene. Besides streaming, videos can be downloaded in both WMV and MOV formats, with the WMVs coming in at low and high resolutions (320x240 and 720x480, respectively). MOVs are stuck at 320x240 pixels only. The webmasters have even thoughtfully provided a link to download VLC Media Player, a program that's used by anyone who knows what media player software is worth the download and what isn't. VLC will play anything that Next Door Buddies offers, guaranteed.

In addition to the videos themselves, each scene provides a link to a gallery of screenshots that gives you a still representation of the action caught on camera in the videos. These pics hit the same resolution as the videos (720x480) and look pretty decent. While they're not as impressive as the site's photo content, these screenshots are a nice way to get some extra previews of the scene before downloading (if you need it) or even to grab a single frame keepsake of your favorite action, pose or cumshot. There are no zip archives available for download so if you want to save the full set of screenshots, you'll have to do it manually.

The photo galleries can be found by clicking on the "pictures" link, located in the top menu bar. Doing so will bring you to a page that looks like a condensed version of the video listing. There are no flash trailers, not surprising since we're talking about still images here, and only one preview pic per gallery, but that should be enough to give you a good indication of what lies ahead. Once inside a gallery, you'll be greeted by eight or nine pages of thumbnails, each of which, when clicked, will cause a flash-based sub-window to open and display your selection at its full resolution. Most of the recent updates feature photo resolutions of around 950x630 pixels, giving you a clear, well defined image with nice colors and good framing. The photos are all very professionally produced and shouldn't disappoint any member. The one thing that I was disappointed with was the absence of downloadable zip archives. Even trashy, low-rent sites are including them these days so I can't image why Next Door Buddies has left them out.

Both the photo and video content feature similar action. In fact, often you'll find that there is a gallery that corresponds directly to your new favorite video, and vice versa. While the vast majority of the scenes involve some straightforward guy-on-guy sex, there is the occasional threesome or gangbang. The hard-bodied, slim lads usually coax each other out of their clothing before making out and getting down to some serious sucking and fucking. Almost every scene ends with some kind of cumshot, whether it's single or double, landing on the guys themselves or on some other surface. While this formula can get a touch repetitive after a while, it's mostly very entertaining.

- The site design is excellent, with a clean, clear style that makes browsing the site very easy and enjoyable.

- The guys that model for Next Door Buddies are very hot indeed. They've got toned, hard bodies without being muscle-loaded thugs, and their faces are generally very attractive, too!

- $14.95 is pretty damn affordable, if you ask me.

Cons:
- The video resolutions could definitely stand to be a bit higher. 720 pixels just isn't that big anymore.

- While the site is pretty easy to use as-is, it would be great to see a search function and model index added in the near future.

- Earlier updates lack the high quality of more recently added content.

- The lack of zip files is a let down.

Conclusion:
If you're looking for some good, clean, hardcore gay fun, then you could definitely do a lot worse than Next Door Buddies. These "average" guys may look like your typical American boys next door, but they fuck like gods!
