Overview:
Well, just how much bigger than Kate Moss does a chick have to be to ensure maximum satisfaction in the sack? I'd say the women of XL Girls are a pretty good model. They're endowed with extremely bountiful breasts, big tummies, heavy thighs, and huge appetites, for sex! Black women, white women, Latin women, Asian women, they're all here and ready to rumble. The XL Girls tour page is attractive and looks like it could have been designed as recently as last year. It's always cool to see a site that looks pretty "with it", design wise, but it doesn't always mean much. You could head into the members' area and find it looks totally different and the videos are of 1995 standards. The XL Girls tour page does make a few comments about their content, though they're all about the kind of women and the sex they have, with no mention of DVD quality or High Definition videos (let alone hi-res photo galleries). I suppose we'll just have to suck it up and head inside.

Once you've logged in and landed on the main members' page, you'll notice the huge expanses of nothing that surround the menus, previews and what not. Why all the empty space? Well, I asked Frank Miller (comic book artist, filmmaker, and all-round Hollywood "big shot"), who's known for his employment of negative space.

Mr. Pink's: So, Frank. Now that the totally undeserved hype surrounding your recent cinematic bastardization of Will Eisner's The Spirit has died down, would you care to comment on the design of XL Girls' members' area?

Frank Miller: Well, Negative space, in art, is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image. Negative space may be most evident when the space around a subject, and not the subject itself, forms an interesting or artistically relevant shape; such space is occasionally used to artistic effect as the "real" subject of an image.

MP: Did you just steal that from Wikipedia?

FM: Yes. Do your own dirty work. I've got hot young starlets to take to lunch and large black hats to purchase with my millions and millions of dollars.

Ok, now that Mr. Miller has cleared up, well, nothing, let's take a closer look at what's on offer inside XL Girls. There's a menu on the left side of the page that points you to What's New, Photos, which is split into Top Heavy, Rubenesque, and Plumpers, Videos, Specials, Editorials, New Releases, Calendar, Store, and Contact. If I'm not mistaken, XL Girls has been modeled on the online magazine format. That certainly bodes reasonably well for the quality of photography, if not much else. Hitting the Photos page actually takes you to the model directory, where you can find portrait shots of every model featured in a gallery or video somewhere on XL Girls. Underneath the woman's image lies her name and the number of postings (or updates) that she's featured in. It's always a good idea to check out the model index early on in your visit to a new porn site; check out the wares, so to speak. I found Busty Becky fairly attractive, maybe because of her semi-transparent white wife-beater - and decided to see what she's been up to. Her profile page gives quite a lot of information, body type (voluptuous top heavy), stats (42-32-40), bra size (34DDD), as well as her height, weight, location, and the out-of-five score given to her by members (she ranks a 4.5). Not only is her XL Girls content listed, she has two videos and three photoshoots online here, but her work for related websites is also noted, although this merely functions as an enticement to sign up for those sites, none of which are included as bonuses for XL members. In fact, many of the links provided here only lead you to the online store, where you can purchase related DVDs and magazines. Way to tease the fans, XL webmasters!

Checking out one of Becky's photo galleries, I notice that downloadable zip archives come in two resolution formats: 800x600 and 1600x1200. Damn, that's some good options right there! You can, of course, open individual pics from right there on the page, but they'll only reach 400x600 pixels. Whether you view them on the site or download the zips, the photos look like they've been ripped straight from a magazine, in the best sense. The photography is very professional and a lot of effort has been put into most of the shoots to ensure maximum class and sensuality. Sure, when the plump, big-breasted babes whip out their dildos and stick 'em in their mouths, it leans more towards smut, but who doesn't love smut? The difference between the different photo sections is as follows: Top Heavy focuses on women that might not be obese but have very large breasts; Rubenesque shows us women that feature a fairly even spread of weight all over their body (but all tend to have big boobs, too); and Plumpers delivers flat-out fatties! So, no matter how big you like your BBW, you'll most likely find someone appropriate here on XL Girls.

I spied a familiar face (and ass) when I visited the Videos page. It was Kelly Shibari, who I've seen on a few other BBW websites and who's always pretty good. I gave her pic a click and found myself on the video viewing page, where a full scene description was waiting, along with a streaming Flash video and some download options. If there's one thing I know about Kelly Shibari, it's that there's a lot of her to love. If there are two things I know about Kelly Shibari, it's that she sure loves to fuck. While the 640x360 WMV looks pretty decent, it's definitely not in competition with what's available on many other sites. In fact, if the resolutions aren't upgraded in the near future, XL Girls will find that they've been left behind while everyone else has moved to High Definition.

Membership to XL Girls will run you $29.95 per month, or $59.95 for a three-month stint in what the webmasters believe is BBW heaven. With no bonus sites or third-party content, members will have to be content with the Specials (themed pictorials and photoshoots that really should be placed in the main photo section) and Editorials (a collection of BBW-themed erotic fiction complete with a few illustrations, and a few dozen articles on sexuality and sexual health). While these aren't exactly enthralling, you may find them to be just what you and your cock require after a furious beat-off session. Hell, if reading is your thing and you've just rubbed one out, might I suggest taking in a few more Mr. Pink's reviews?

Pros:
- Great photo viewing options. The multi-size zips are, like, totally dreamy!

- There's a big fat assload of content here, guys. I'm talking tons!

- Updates arrive every weekday, with very few missed days.

- If you dig fatties or chicks with huge, natural tits, then you'll love these models.

Cons:
- Video quality leaves quite a bit to be desired. Get outta the dark ages, webmasters!

- The navigation is a little tricky and it'll be a while before you feel like you've really got a handle on every part of the site.

- Some of the photo content looks rather dated. I thought we tried to forget the 1980s and early 90s?

- Constant links to off-site content that needs to be purchased? No thanks.

Conclusion:
The more I check out BBW sites, the more I like 'em. Many of the models on XL Girls seem like lovely women who love to fuck, which means I wouldn't object to a two-on-one bedroom wrestling session! Videos are entertaining but definitely need to be upgraded, and the navigation and web design really could use a reworking for a more streamlined system. There is a fuckload of content, though, so you'll never really run out of stuff to check out. And if pics and vids don't always have your soldier at attention, take a gander at the fiction and articles section for a cracking good time with text. In summation, these XL Girls might be great, but the site needs a bit of work to do them and their wonderful photos justice.
