Overview:
I could swear I've recently reviewed DVD Box; here I go again, I suppose. DVD Box is one of the most popular and impressive video download sites...Oh, wait - that's Video Box. This is DVD Box! No wonder I'm confused.

DVD Box is one of the rising stars of video porn sites, and with a lot to offer they're sure to be rising even higher as they grow. The site is updated daily with two new DVDs; as each DVD contains anywhere from 4 to 8 scenes this is a pretty hefty helping of new porn to devour in one 24 hour period. There's quite a wide range of DVDs on DVD Box and I'm sure that most viewers will be satisfied with the variety. There's everything from Alt. Porn and Amateur to Tranny and Voyeur movies. As I mentioned, each DVD contains multiple scenes with different performers getting on their knees (or all fours!) for the art of pornography.

The layout and design of DVD Box is quite good, and browsing through the many areas of the site is fairly carefree. The most convenient way for members to find new content is simply to take a gander at the main members' page. Newly updated DVDs are displayed there and a click or two will surely have you looking at the download screen for something that has whetted your appetite.

Each scene can be downloaded in a number of ways. WMV is the most favored format these days and DVD Box has decided to offer it as the main download option for all their videos. Their WMV files come in both small (320x236) and large (720x528) sizes. The larger size is by far the most watchable with a bright, clear image. The smaller size, however, is best avoided unless you're still stuck in the dark ages of dial-up (if so, you're in my prayers). There's also a streaming Flash version that can be viewed from inside your browser window. It, like the larger WMV, is fairly clear and is especially useful if you don't want to wait for a download to finish before you get the lead out. A most curious feature has been added to DVD Box that I've never seen anywhere else: Convert Videos. It seems that if you require your video to be in a format other than WMV you can select Convert Video and the website will magically make it available to you. I tried to test this function on a number of scenes and never got a result. I selected my format and hit Convert but nothing ever happened. After some research I found that most people's results were a little different from mine, although not much more pleasing. It seems DVD Box will convert your files to VOB, 3GP, DIVX, FLV, MOV, MP4, MPG or iPod format but you have to wait 24 hours for the file to be ready in you're My Favorites folders. Bummer. That could've been a really neat on-demand feature.

User-friendly DVD and category browsing is always appreciated and DVD Box pulls through on both counts. A model index with photos and a brief bio would be much better than the drop-down menu that's currently in use, a menu that is standard on similar sites, but that may just be personal preference on my part. An Upcoming DVDs section lets you know what's soon to be uploaded for your viewing pleasure and there's even a countdown timer ticking off the seconds before the next batch of hardcore clips are ready for consumption.

It's hard not to compare DVD Box to VideoBox, a site that is often acclaimed as the best on the web. So hard, in fact, that I kept wishing I was surfing VideoBox instead. Hopefully DVD Box can come out of VideoBox's shadow and stand on its own. For now, though, here come the pros and cons.

Pros:
- There's a huge collection of high quality porn here. It'll take even the most fap-furious user a long time to get through it all.

- Two new DVDs added per day is a great update schedule. That's at least 6 or 7 new scenes every 24 hours!

- Many of your favorite porn stars have a number of scenes available here.

Cons:
- Non-exclusive content means that you're sure to find at least a few flicks you've, uh, used before.

- The Convert Video function is good in theory but remains glitchy (at least for Mac users) and reports show a 24-hour wait for the file isn't unusual. A pity, that is.

Conclusion:
DVD Box is fast establishing itself as a true competitor amongst DVD download sites (porn ones, at least). But while it plays host to a whole slew of great DVDs and is an easy site to scope out and navigate, it still can't really compare with VideoBox. I'm sure DVD Box knows this and is doing all they can to offer something different that will make them stand out but until they pull it off, it's probably best to direct your focus to another, cheaper, more jam-packed site.
