Overview:
Some have claimed that the Internet has not facilitated sexual satisfaction and the opening of ones sexual horizons and attitudes, but, on the contrary, has simply made it more difficult for people to find genuine fulfillment and instead settling for an easier, more worthless, and ultimately dehumanizing digital representation of something that should be tactile and very direct. To those naysayers I say "Bah! You've clearly never seen J. Stephen Hick's stellar erotic website Digital Desire!" Online since April 1997, Digital Desire has had quite some time to establish both its aesthetic and its reputation. The critics rave about Digital Desire and, in fact, in Mr. Pink's last review of this acclaimed site, this reviewer used such laudatory nuggets of praise as "relentless appeal" and "the pinnacle of glamorous nude photography." Is the site still beating out much of its competition thanks to Hicks's impressive photographic skills, keen eye for casting, and consistently potent glamour porn? You could throw down $14.95 a month to find out or you could trust with Mr. Pink, the man with a plan and a keyboard in hand, to guide you through the ins and outs of Digital Desire. (Go with the latter: it's free, easy, and gives me something to do!)

Pros:
Much like Twistys and Playboy, Digital Desire only casts the most devastatingly sexy adult performers to appear in its glamour porn shoots. Right now at Digital Desire you can find superstars like Abella Anderson, Alexis Texas, Alisha Klass, and Angelina Heart in the A section, and hundreds more on pages B to Z. All of them, needless to say, are shot beautifully by Hicks and his crew.

With more than 2,400 galleries, Digital Desire's photo collection is the envy of many competing sites and the savior of an endless line of sexually frustrated appreciators of the female form at its finest. Photos reach 800, 1024, 1280, 1600, and 3000px, can be downloaded in zips, and even viewed in an online Lightbox slideshow. The photography is, of course, excellent, with a definite lean towards fantasy and glamour.

The 887 videos currently held here may not all be available in High Definition formats, but many are, peaking at 720p and looking mighty fine indeed. From solo masturbation scenes to lesbian encounters and even some fairly light hardcore, Digital Desire's videos may be brief, but they're packed with stunning imagery, inventive direction, and, just as importantly, clear on-set audio capturing the women's breathy sounds.

Most sites with a main content collection this strong don't much bother with bonuses. Digital Desire, however, has assembled some really fun bonuses for members: daily portrait images, desktop wallpapers, 140 behind the scenes galleries, and almost 2,000 Talent Search mini-galleries, many of which include handwritten bios from the girls. And you can get it all for a mere $14.95 a month.

Cons:
I was surprised to find on Digital Desire's update page some content that couldn't possibly be new, uploaded as if it were. Well, honestly, it could be new to the site, but Erica Campbell hasn't shot any adult content in four years, so I'm willing to bet this is a years-old work. Rumor has it Digital Desire recycles older content, re-adding it at a later date, which would certainly explain the presence of Ms. Campbell in a 2012 update.

Over the last year or two, Digital Desire has seen a significant influx of hardcore content, so much so that it now sits in contrast to the sites more softcore origins. Those who've been with the site for a while might not be very impressed with this sea change, while others who favor the more explicit stuff will no doubt be thrilled. (Also present but not vocal: the "It's all pussy to me," contingent.)

Unfortunately for those who don't need the highest possible visual quality, zipped galleries only provide the highest available resolution. At 1600px or 3000px, especially 3000px, these zips are going to be overkill for many viewers.

Digital Desire's content emphasizes glamour, fantasy, and a high-gloss style, yet the design of the website itself has curiously been neglected and now looks like a relic from the late-90s and could definitely use a complete makeover sometime soon.

Conclusion:
Digital Desire might be an excellent producer of high quality glamour porn, but it certainly isn't without its faults. The site design is a shambles with a layout that screams "Simplify, brother!" and a look that recalls some of the 90s graphic design tropes best left in the 20th century. Updates are of concern, too, in that there have been some "new" updates added of late that cannot possibly have been shot within the last four or five years. With rumors circulating that Digital Desire has actually been recycling its older content, re-adding at a later date to give the impression of more substantial and consistent growth seem to be, at least to this reviewer, based in fact. A few other minor issues - zips for all image sizes, please - might trouble some folks, but the majority of you who are interested in joining the ranks of Digital Desire members will no doubt just be thrilled to be in the presence of the hottest women in porn and erotica, beautiful high quality, high resolution photos and videos, and such an enormous archive of exclusive smut. We all have to make sacrifices and if Digital Desire suits most of your needs, it's probably a good idea to throw caution to the wind and go in for a closer (much closer) look.
