Playboy's legendary devotion to quality and its considerable clout means the women seen in its (virtual and printed) pages range from perviously unknown student hotties to the most desired actresses, musicians, models, and media personalities of our time. Playboy Plus comes at a price, however, and you might be reluctant to throw down $29.99 per month just to beat off to what it often seems everyone else on the planet is beating off to also. Will Playboy Plus's unlimited HD video streaming and downloading, daily updates, and thousands upon thousands of sultry images and seductive videos prove irresistible to you or are you way ahead of me and deep in the archives already?

Pros:
Playboy's legendary models fill the pages of Playboy Plus like peaches dress a fruitful tree in springtime in Georgia. From celebrities like Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan, Lisa Rinna, and Cindy Crawford to Olympic athletes, unknown coed babes, amateur nude models, and, of course, Playboy's stable of Playmates (Claire Sinclair, Jayde Nicole, Tiffany Fallon etc), International models, and Cybergirls (models exclusive to the 'net).

Playboy's photographers are among the most accomplished in their field and deliver images in a wide range of styles but of consistently high quality. From simply lit and elegantly dressed bedroom sets to aggressively artistic and experimental designs in which the woman is merely one element and outdoor shoots leaning on the natural world for context and support, there's plenty of variety here.

In addition to the high quality photography, Playboy Plus serves up detailed, high-resolution images and even offers downloadable zips and on online slideshow viewer for your convenience. The newer 1920px shots and 1080p videos are immaculate (although they could be higher resolution) and new galleries arrive every day, adding to the huge collection (approx. 7,000 galleries and 4,300 videos) already available.

While priced fairly at $29.99, this massive Playboy Plus wonderland can be had for significantly less if you sign up for multiple months of access at one time. Signing up for a 12 month pass gives you the best value, bringing the monthly cost below ten dollars! Throw in free access to Playboy's "entertainment, events, and lifestyle" site, Playground for all Playboy Plus members and you'd be mad not to seriously consider joining in the fun.

Cons:
Playboy Plus isn't the only site operated by Hef's crew, there's also Playboy TV, Women of Playboy, Playboy Girls, and a handful of others. Yet none of these other Playboy sites can be accessed with your Playboy Plus membership. Remember, Playboy didn't become the most successful pornography empire of all time by giving its smut away for free. Some content found on this site may also be found on the others.

While I suppose they don't want every member running out and starting an online store pushing reproductions of Playboy centerfolds, I'm still somewhat disappointed to see Playboy keeping their images under a 2000px resolution when many other sites have long since passed the 5000px mark.

Videos are generally edited in a flashy "MTV style" that can make it difficult to focus on the women depicted. The music, too, distracts and errs on the chaotic and not the sensual, which is a shame. Some of the more adventurous galleries and videos can also veer a little too far into self-indulgent territory, but they're definitely in the minority.

Finding your way around Playboy Plus doesn't pose huge problems, but it is far from fluid and easy. Advanced searching and browsing tools are nowhere to be found, limiting your investigations to the main model categories (Playmates, Celebrities, Cybergirls, International, Coeds, Amateurs, and Special Edition) with only a few physical characteristics (hair, eye color; bust size) to narrow down the options.

Conclusion:
Playboy Plus is one of about a dozen online ventures currently being run by the bunny-eared pornography empire started by Hugh Hefner in 1953 and, while it's one of the simplest, it's also one of the most satisfying. Basically an online archive of galleries, centerfolds, short video pieces, and tease images featuring the Playmates, Coeds, Amateurs, Celebrities, and models from Playboy's international editions, Playboy Plus offers straightforward browsing, plenty of content, high image quality, and, of course, the most desirable women on Earth. What it doesn't offer, however, is the kind of image quality its competitors have started producing: images up to (and even over) 5616px! But, while the videos could surely be edited in a less obnoxious and more atmospheric fashion, and the navigation could definitely be enhanced with a few more tools and features, Playboy Plus is far from saddled with these problems. It shrugs them off and keeps on delivering daily updates to its remarkably large and deep collection, adding more galleries every week to the total Playboy archive and, thankfully, to your computer screen.
