Pros:
There's a good collection brewing here at Vintage Gay Loops, with 189 scenes already online. Each scene, added weekly, brings both moving and still images, the latter being a screencap gallery that's good for previewing purposes and for saving choice shots from your favorite scenes. Also present is a collection of photos from vintage box covers (with comments from the webmasters) and a Pride Timeline outlining the gay rights movements greatest achievements.

It's great to see the un-manscaped physiques of the performers here. They were once held as the pinnacle of gay attractiveness and, with plenty of mustaches, hairy chests, and unkempt pubes, they seem far more masculine and natural and down-to-earth than the excessively shaved and manicured fellas in today's porn.

Videos look good in peak 720x480 pixel frames, WMV formatted. Although they could look better, you shouldn't have any major complaints whether streaming or downloading your choice of scenes. The image is nicely aged with some surface scratches and a charming haze that, with the aid of some cheesy soundtrack music, really helps drive home the vintage of the works.

Cons:
Although the site promises "remastered" video content, the scenes online here look like they've just been digitized from their original Super 8mm sources. There's no real evidence of post-telecine cleanup or actually remastering. If you want the clearest possible images, you're gonna have to look elsewhere, I'm afraid.

It's a damn shame to find the Vintage Photos section holding just 26 images. They're nice shots, sure, and they're certainly an accurate representation of what vintage box covers looked like - I know, I have a pretty decent Super 8mm porn collection - but it's such a small collection!

When signing up for your Vintage Gay Loops membership, be careful to make sure to deselect the additional membership for Gay Porn Access. This "bonus" will initially cost you just $1.95, but that cost soon escalates, recurring after a three-day trial period at $29.95. Watch out for this one, folks!

There's no information provided with Vintage Gay Loops' scenes, just the videos and screencaps. It'd be great to know from which movie they were pulled, to what year or era they belong, and who the performers are, but those behind the scenes clearly couldn't be bothered looking into such facts and credits.

Conclusion:
With 189 scenes at the ready, Vintage Gay Loops has a reasonably large collection on offer. New scenes are added every week, bringing even more finely aged all-male smut to your screen. While the content looks pretty good, there doesn't appear to have been any significant remastering done on these Super 8mm films. Scratches, dirt, and that signature hazy look still cloud the image and could have you wishing a bit more post-production (way, way post-production) work had been done to clean them up. The guys look fantastic; it's a treat to see men this rugged and masculine fucking each other in an age where manscaping is par for the course for adult performers. Vintage Gay Loops certainly won't keep everyone entertained, but those with a fondness for gay porn from the golden age will definitely get a real and unique thrill from the site, which is as precious and unique as the porn it offers.
