Dare Dorm review

Grown adults all over the country are typically filled with nostalgia for their own college days. Drinking, smoking, promiscuous sex, and a general disregard for the norms of adult society and personal well-being have been integral parts of college life for many, many years and there has been a recent boom of college-themed porn sites hoping to win over those of us who either feel like we missed out on all the fun or wished we could re-enroll and do it all again. Dare Dorm is one such site and as a slogan emblazoned on its tour page says, it is filled with “real submitted dorm room footage from real students.” From the looks of the preview pics and videos, the college attendees sending in this amateur smut are pros at organizing some of the wildest dorm parties you’ve ever seen: wet suds storms, pussy shaving, discreet couples being spied on, drunken naked ice-luging, threesomes, foursomes, and even eightsomes. These guys know how to party and they’re letting you in on the crazy side of the American college experience, all for $17.95 a month. Well, shit, if that isn’t cheaper than buying a few sixers and some ribs for you and your buddies while you sit around watching the game, I don’t know what is.

Pros:
Wild and crazy college parties? Check. Groups of hot young girls willing to expose their stunning bodies on camera? Check. All-girl make-out sessions that rarely end at frenching; dudes who won’t stop until they’ve been blown by one, two, three chicks; copious quantities of alcohol to fuel these degenerate celebrations of youthful exuberance? Check check check.

Dare Dorm’s videos stream in Flash format and deliver strong, colorful amateur content with minimal load time. These streams look very good and serve up a hefty helping of partying and sexxxin’ up; often over an hour’s worth.

Each Dare Dorm scene offers a photo gallery to compliment the video. Photos are generally attractive and reach resolutions of 900x675; they can also be viewed from within your browser window or downloaded in zipped archives.

Cons:
Content has gone from questionably amateur to unquestionably semi-professional. It now seems like the guys behind Dare Dorm set out to make these parties wild and explicit and spare no expense hiring guys and girls who are willing to bare all for the cameras. That certainly takes some of the fun out of a website filled with supposedly amateur-submitted content, doesn’t it?

None of Dare Dorm’s videos can be download. That’s right, fellas, this website only offers streaming content and while it generally buffers quickly and looks quite good, the lack of available downloads is certainly a huge hurdle most members won’t be able or inclined to jump.

With only 36 scenes in the Dare Dorms archives, there’s really not a lot to enjoy here. Sure, the scenes are often more than 50 minutes long, but much of that runtime is filled with non-sexual shenanigans that probably won’t be of interest to you, dick in hand.

Lots of different activities take place in these dorm scenes, but you’re basically left to the very poorly written synopses to figure out whether a particular scene will be the one to get you off. A keyword tag system is an obvious and necessary navigational feature to offer, but it’s nowhere to be found.

Conclusion:
When Mr. Pink first reviewed Dare Dorm about a year ago, it suffered a rather negative review but was given the benefit of the doubt because of its youth and relative inexperience. In the twelve months since that first look, however, Dare Dorm has made very few advancements, instead miring in the same tepid waters that garnered such a derisive reading from this reviewer in the first place. Videos are still only available in a single streaming format and there hasn’t exactly been a flood of new material hitting the site either. Added to that, the scenes themselves seem to be getting progressively less amateur and more professional, gradually removing all authenticity from the site. Unless changes are made that brings Dare Dorm to a state of sufficient customer satisfaction - downloadable HD videos, more frequent updates, less professionalism in the scenes - there’s absolutely no reason to expect the site would, or should, last much longer. If it does, it will be solely due to the ignorance of new members. As readers of Mr. Pink’s, then, you’ve got the upper hand.
